Founder, Shri Ram Murti Smarak Trust
Late Shri Ram Murti Ji was a veteran freedom fighter, distinguished politician, and devoted social activist whose life embodied the Gandhian principles of selfless service and nation-building.
Profoundly influenced by Mahatma Gandhi's ideology, he actively participated in the Satyagraha and Quit India movements, enduring imprisonment during India's struggle for independence. He pursued his education at Banaras Hindu University and Lucknow University, earning degrees in law.
His distinguished political career spanned decades as a member of the U.P. Legislative Assembly (1946–1977), and he represented Bareilly in the Lok Sabha (1977). He served in ministerial positions under several Chief Ministers for nineteen years, championing state and national development. He promoted agricultural advancement through international missions to the USA, Japan, England, and Taiwan.
